He had married widow Sarah McCormick, Nee Breen/McKeown on the 5th January 1907.

The 1911 Ireland Census has Thomas living at 87 Glenwood Street, Belfast with his wife Sarah, with Edith W Breen, 16 years and Matilda Breen, 12 years, described as daughters, Robert A.B Breen, 14 years, described as son, and an Edith Breen, 61 years, described as a visitor. Thomas occupation at this time is given as a Labourer in Iron Works.

Thomas joined the Royal Irish Rifles.

He was posted as part of the British Expeditionary Forces to France on the 4th of October 1915.

Thomas McCormick was a Rifleman in the 9th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles when he was Killed In Action on the 1st of July 1916.

A local newspaper states.

Rifleman Thomas McCormick, Royal Irish Rifles, is now officially reported killed on that date. His widow lives at 87 Glenwood Street, Belfast.

His Soldiers Effects were left to his wife Sarah.

A Dependant Pension Form also shows his wife Sarah as claimant.

He received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1914-1915 Star.

He is Remembered at London Cemetery and Extension, Longueval, France.
