William John McReavie, son of Hugh and Elizabeth McReavie, lived at 10 Weir Street, Shankill Road, Belfast.

The 1901 Ireland Census has William living at 42 Urney Street, Shankill Road, Belfast with his mother, occupation, Winder, and father, Joiner.

The 1911 Ireland Census has William living at 46 Weir Street, Belfast with his mother, Winder, father, Carpenter. Williams occupation at this time is given as Labourer.

William John McReavie was a Rifleman in the 15th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles when he was Killed In Action on the 31st of October 1916, aged 25 years.

A local newspaper states.

Missing from 31st October 1916, Rifleman William J M'Reavie, Royal Irish Rifles, is now reported killed. He was a son of Mr Hugh M'Reavie, 10 Weir Street, Belfast.

His Soldiers Effects were left to his mother Elizabeth.

A Will, signed and dated 19th February 1916, left his Property and Effects to his mother.

A Dependant Pension Application Form shows both his mother and father as claimants.

He is Remembered at Pont-Du-Hem Military Cemetery, La Gorgue, France.
