William Laird, son of Richard and Annie Laird, lived with his wife and child at 21 Richmond Street, Shankill, Belfast

William had married Sarah Laird, Nee Crowe, in Holy Trinity Church of Ireland Church, Belfast on the 28th February 1910. They went on to have a daughter, Annie Elizabeth Laird, born 13th April 1914.

William joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

He was posted as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 7th August 1915.

William was a Private in 6th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers when he was Killed In Action on the 15th August 1915

Private William Laird, Private in 6th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers, was Killed at the Dardanelles on August 15. Deceased was 28 years of age, and leaves a wife and child, who reside at 21 Richmond Street, Belfast
