Albert signed the Ulster Covenant on the 28th of September 1912, Ulster Day within Belfast City Hall

Albert joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

He was posted as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 7th August 1915.

Albert was a Private in 6th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers when he was Killed In Action on the 16th of August 1915 aged 21 years.
