Belfastmen Killed.

Intimation has been received by Mrs McIlroy, 32 Wimbledon Street, Belfast, that her brother, Private John Savage, 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was killed at the Dardanelles on August 231. Prior to enlisting deceased was employed at the Queens Island. Two other brothers of Mrs McIlroy are serving with the colours, one on the 17th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, and the other on the Canadian Horse

Johns Soldiers Effects were left to his sister.

His Will, signed and dated the 28th February 1915 states the following, In the event of my death I give the whole of me property and effects to my sister Mrs McIlroy 32 Wimbledon St Belfast her receipt alone being a sufficient discharge.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show his sister Edith and brother in law William George McIlroy as claimants.

John received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1914-1915 Star.

He is Remembered at Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
