The 1901 Ireland Census has Henry Living at 13 River Street, Shankill, with his mother, father, occupation, Labourer At Mill, and three brothers, William, 23 years, Department In Preparing Employment, Hugh, 19 years, Bricklayer Labourer, and Daniel, 12 years. Henrys occupation at this time is given as Worker In Spinning Mill

The Census Of England and Wales, 1911, Enumeration Book For The Royal Navy has Stoker 1st Class Henry Wasson living within Chatham Naval Barracks

Henry had married Annie Wasson, Nee McNally, on the 15th January 1913 within Ligoniel Roman Catholic Church. They went on to have two children, Hugh born 6th May 1913, and Catherine born 13th June 1914. Sadly Hugh died on the 20th December 1915, aged two and a half years. It's also worth mentioning that Henrys mother Catherine died on the 1st of March 1914

Henry joined the Royal Navy on the 31st July 1906.

He served on a number of ships throughout his career, including the following: HMS Acheron, HMS Attentive, HMS Pathfinder, HMS Pembroke II, before ending on HMS Hawke. His Character throughout his service is given as Very Good.

Henry was transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserves on the 31st July 1911, however he was recalled for service on the 5th August 1914.

Henry, aged 30 years, was a Stoker 1st Class within the Royal Navy when while serving aboard HMS Hawke he Drowned, Died At Sea, his ship having been attacked and sunk by a German Submarine, U 9, in the North Sea on the 15th of October 1914
