Robert Logan, son of William and Elizabeth Logan, lived with his wife Mary Jane Logan at 222 Leopold Street, Greater Shankill, Belfast.

The 1901 Ireland Census has Robert living at 1 Brannish ( Derrylea, Fermanagh ) with his father, occupation, Farmer, two sisters Annie, 24 years, Elizabeth Jane, 20 years, and brother William, 18 years, Farmers Assistant. Roberts occupation at this time is given as Farmers Assistant.

Robert married Mary Jane Logan, Nee Donnelly, on the 25th December 1915.

Robert joined the Irish Guards.

He was posted as part of the British Expeditionary Force to France on the 27th August 1914.

Robert was a Private in 1st Battalion Irish Guards when he was Killed In Action on the 9th October 1917 aged 30 years.

A local newspaper states.

Official intimation has been received that Private Robert Logan, Irish Guards, was killed in action on the 9th inst. Deceased, whose wife resides at 222 Leopold Street, Belfast, was employed by Messrs Jas Mackie and Son before enlistment.

Thomas Soldiers Effects were left his to his widow Mary.

A Dependent Pension Application Form shows his widow as claimant.

He received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1914 Star.

He is Remembered at Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
