The 1911 Ireland Census has Andrew living at 14 Ottawa Street, Greater Shankill, Belfast, with his wife, Emily, his son, Robert Edmund, 6 years, and daughter, Emily, 3 years. His occupation is given as Van Man For Works.

Andrew had married Emily Lorimer, Nee Magennis, on the 8th of April 1903 an they had four children, Robert Ernest, born 8th of October 1904, Emily, born 19th of September 1907, Isabella, born 18th of January 1912, and Ethel, born 24th of February 1916.

Andrew was a member of both the Orange Order, LOL 1197 City Temperance and 574 City Temperance Royal Black Preceptory.

Andrew joined the Royal Irish Rifles.

He was posted as part of the British Expeditionary Force to France.

Andrew Lorimer was a Rifleman in the 8/9th, attached 21st Entrenchment, Battalions when he was Killed In Action on the 21st of March 1918 aged 36 years.

A Dependant Pension Application Form shows his widow Emily along with their four children as claimant also.

He received the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

He is Remembered at Pozieres Memorial, France.
