Life Story
Stanley Wadsworth, son of George and Annie Wadsworth, lived at 37 Joseph Street, Shankill Road, Belfast.
The 1901 Ireland Census has Stanley living at 9 Hugh Street with his mother (a housekeeper) and brother Albert (3). By the 1911 Ireland Census, Stanley is living at 40 Richmond Street, Shankill Road, with his mother (now a handkerchief folder), his four sisters – Maud (11), Edith (5), Lena (3) and Ellen (3) and brother Albert.
Stanley was a Rifleman in the 7th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles. He was killed in action on the 16th of August 1917. His Soldiers Effects were left to his mother.
He is remembered at Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
