A local newspaper states.

Pte JAMES TEMPLETON. 2nd INNISKILLING FUSILIERS.

Considerable anxiety is felt by his friends in Ballymena and Belfast, concerning the fate of Pte James Templeton, 2nd Batt Inniskilling Fusiliers, who has been at the front since the start of the war, and from whom no word has been received since October last. He went out with his brother in law, Pte John Cummings, of the Inniskillings (who was home wounded, and has since returned to the front), and he left Ballymena with Private Leslie Houston, the well known Ballymena footballer, who has since been killed in action. No trace has been, or can be obtained of Pte Templeton from about the time of the battle of Mons, and it is believed he was killed about that time. He was an employee of Davison's Sirocco Works, Belfast, and served through the Boar War. He also has two brothers on active service. Pte Robert Templeton 2nd Batt Royal Irish Rifles, who has seen some severe fighting, and Pte George Templeton, who is serving at the front with the Royal Engineers. Their father, Mr George Templeton, is a moulder in Messrs Musgrave's, Belfast, and resides at Lorton Street in the city, and another brother, Mr William Templeton, 46 Moat Road, Ballymena, is well and favourably known within the town.

.
