John Campbell, son of John and Agnes Gertrude Campbell, Step son of Mary Jane Campbell, lived at 108 Palmer Street, Shankill, Belfast

He was posted as part of the British Expeditionary Force to France on the 26th August 1917.

Having received furlough he returned home on the 15th February 1919.

John was a Private in the Royal Army Service Corps when he Died Due To Illness (Pneumonia)on the 25th February 1919 aged 20 years, within a Belfast Military Hospital whilst on short term leave from France.

Private John Campbell, M.T., R.A.S.C., has died in the Victoria Barracks from pneumonia following influenza. Deceased had about two years service to his credit, nearly all at the front.
