James was a Rifleman in 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles when he was Killed In Action on the 9th May 1915 aged 32 years

His Will, signed and dated the 6th February 1915 states the following, In the event of my death I give the whole of my property and any money due to me to my mother Mrs Sarah Taylor, 17 Fingal Street, Belfast.
A Dependant Pension Application Form shows his mother as claimant. It also shows that she lived at 15 Woodvale Street, 245 Cupar Street, and 3 Fingal Street while receiving it.
