Robert was a Private in 1st Battalion Kings Own, Royal Lancaster Regiment, when he was Killed In Action 15th May 1915 aged 22 years

Mrs Hands, 58 Westland Street, Belfast, has received official notification that her son, Robert, of the 1st Battalion Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, was killed in action on the 15th ult. Deceased had two years service, and was stationed at Dover when the war was declared. Robert was eldest of Mr R Hands, now serving at the front with the Cheshire Regiment
