Ernest's Soldiers Effects were left to his mother Sarah.

His Will signed and dated the 12th November 1914 stated the following, In the event of my death I give whole of my property and effects to my mother Mrs S A Patterson of No 5 Ambleside St Belfast.

A Pension Application Form shows Ernest's mother as claimant, and as living at 27 Denmark Street, Belfast at the time of applying.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show his mother as claimant for himself and brother Aubrey also. Her address at time of applying is given as 37 James St, Shankill Road, Belfast.
