John Sefton, son of Bernard and Mary Sefton, is connected through his sister Elizabeth to 33 Paris Street, Shankill, Belfast

John joined the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.

He was posted as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 17th March 1915.

John was a Private in 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he Died Of Wounds received in action aboard His Majesty's Hospital Ship H.M.H.S Sicilia at Sea on the 27th May 1915 aged 29 years.

Mrs Braniff, 39 Paris Street, Belfast, has been advised that her brother, Private John Sefton, 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, died on May 29 of wounds received in action at the Dardanelles. Deceased had nine years service, and came from India to Rugby shortly after the outbreak of war.

His signed Will stated the following, In the event of my death I give the half of my money to my sister Elizabeth Braniff 39 Paris Street, Belfast and the other half to my other sister Maggie Crone 52 Dundee Street, Belfast, in case of any one of them dying the one living to possess all, sign John Sefton.

John received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1915 Star.

He is Remembered at Alexandria (Chatby) Military And War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
