James was a Private in 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he Died Of Wounds on the 30th June 1915.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show his grandmother as claimant, and as living at 12 Crane Street at the time of applying.

James received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1915 Star.

He is Remembered at Pink Farm Cemetery, Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey.
