William joined the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.

He was posted as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 17th March 1915.

William was a Private in 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he Died Of Wounds on the 4th July 1915 aged 27 years

Mr S Cummins, 56 Beverley Street, Belfast, has been officially notified that his son, Private William Cummins, 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Deceased, who had eight years service, came from India with his regiment last autumn.

His Will, which he wrote and sent from Rugby in England, was signed and dated 1st February 1915 and states the following, In the event of my death I bequeath all money and property due to me to my sister Miss Agnes Cummins 56 Beverley Street, Belfast Ireland.

Williams Pension Application Form shows his father Samuel as claimant.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show both Williams father, 56 Beverley Street, Belfast, and sister Agnes, 2 Mulhouse Street, Belfast, as claimants.

William received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1915 Star.

He is Remembered at Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
