Rifleman Joseph Johnston (11144), C Company, 6th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, was officially reported missing after the landing at Suvla Bay, and has not been heard of since. His sister, Miss May Johnston, who resides at 158 Cambria Street, Belfast, would be grateful for tidings of him

Josephs Soldiers Effects were left to his sister Mrs Jane White.

His Will, signed and dated the 22nd May 1915 states the following, In the event of my death I give the whole of my property and effects to Jinnie White of 158 Cambria St, Belfast.

A Pension Application Form shows his sister May as claimant, her address is given as 173 Upper Meadow Street, Belfast.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show his sister as claimant also.

Joseph received the British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1915 Star.

He is Remembered at Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
