Hugh was a Private in 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he was Killed In Action on the 28th April 1915 aged 21 years

Mrs Smith, 4 Belgrave Street, Belfast, has been notified that her son, Private Hugh Smith (10390), 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Deceased came from India with his regiment, and had three years service. His brother is at present with the Ulster Division
