He was posted as part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on 17th March 1915.

James McQuoid was a Corporal in 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he Died of Wounds on the 3rd May 1915 aged 23 years

DARDANELLES AND FLANDERS.

PRICE THE PROVINCE IS PAYING.

The number of Belfast men killed, wounded and missing as the Dardanelles is steadily increasing. Official intimation has been received that Corporal James McQuoid, 1st Batt, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, died on the 14th inst of wounds received in action at the Dardanelles. Deceased had six years service and came from India to Rugby with his battalion. James was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs McQuoid 2 Shannon Street, Belfast. Another son, William, is serving with the 15th Batt, Royal Irish Rifles (North Belfast Volunteer), at Ballykinlar

.

James Soldiers Effects were left to his father William.

He signed Will states the following, In the event of my death I give the whole of my property and effects to my father, William McQuoid 2 Shannon Street, Old Park Road, Belfast.

Dependant Pension Application Forms show both his mother and father as claimants, and also that they now lived at 94 Chief Street, Belfast, whilst claiming.
